Sick

I am sick today - Only I can catch full blown flu in the midst of 90 degree weather, I am hacked off, but blame it all on my Seat car air conditioning, as there are only two settings artic or antartic level, I guess going from freezing to hotness is not good !

I am sitting on the floor, as we have no sofa, we await the new one to be delivered, am just glad we have no guests visiting otherwise they would be sitting on a garden chair in the middle of our
living room, which is not a good look !!

The link from our camera to the laptop is bust, so I have not been able to download any new pics to my blog.. It is at times like this I wish I was a PC/technical whizz to get it sorted, but for the life of me, no matter how many times I connect and disconnect the wires it just won't work.,. I guess I will have to visit my nearest PC world... I am sure they will charge an arm and a leg to sort it.

Cuba

Well after much debating Cuba wins, the stories of mojitos, salsa dancing and cuban cigars have persuaded us to give it a go, so we are off next month (flight loads permitting !) can't wait
although I am loathe to leave this mini heatwave in the uk.. 100 degree weather is unheard of..long may it contiune, I feel like I am living in Miami !

Busy times ahead, well excited to have our new leather sofa delivered at the weekend, then we have some friends visiting the weekend after, and then off on hols - busy busy - in no time at all we will be at the end of Aug, with only 4 months till Christmas !! how scary

Birmingham

Had a nice family weekend, went to my husband's Uncle's 65th Birthday party in Birmingham, now I have never been to Birmingham in my life, and I have to say I was impressed. The main shopping mall - The Bull ring was impressive to say the least, it is clear they have poured millions of pounds into re-developing this once run down area, I am a fan of this shopping area and will surely return!

Have eaten much food!! every family we went to see, gave us so much food .. I certainly overdosed on carribbean food this weekend, it was really lovely..

We are in dilema over holiday destination, we cannot quite decide whether to go to Cuba or Shanghai, the dilema - east versus west ! both unique countries with much to offer in terms of unique culture .. I guess I need to do much more research, as it is just 50/50 as to which way we go.

England is out !!!

Goodness, the 'great' English football team has been booted out of the World Cup, I guess it is kinda sad, as football really seems to unite the British people, but now that patriotic spirit will disappear. Oh well another 4 years till it rears it's head again !

We are having a gorgeous time here, basking in 30 degree weather, I feel my spirits lift if I wake to bright blue skies and hot sunshine, long may it continue.

My diet once again is on hold, I have discovered a Krispy Creme Doughnut booth has opened at Heathrow Airport Terminal 3... As I find myself working up at the airport a little more frequently, it is too much to bear, to not sample one of their gorgeous varieties.. I definatley recommend the vanilla creme, yum yum yum.

Am watching FOX news on the TV, it is so funny to watch this American channel, whilst sitting in littl' ol' England, I normally watch this whilst holidaying in the US, I feel like I should be able to pop into my car rental and pop up the road to Dennys', but alas I cannot the most I can hope for is to pop up the road to the Golden Arches (which is just not the same as having a Dennys' breakfast!!)
