New York New York
We have returned after 48 mad hours in NY, we were on the go the whole time and it was fun. Dare I say we were typical tourists and booked onto an open top bus tour, and learnt several things about NY that we never knew, even hubby who was a native New Yorker for awhile, learnt a few interesting facts ! That NY vibe is still intact, the people are so great in their attitude, even down to this couple having a full blown fight in the salon where I was getting a manicure, there were mobile phones flying..these people had no shame, it was a most entertaining visit to the manicurist !!
Now I know my photo has the twin towers in it, but part of NY to me is the twin towers, the skyline is so strange without them, saw ground zero, it is still a sad place..
We made it to Madison Square Gardens for the game, I am sad to report no foam fingers were purchased but instead hotdogs and beer were consumed in true US style.. The Knicks beat the Celtics in this pre season match, we were up in the top section but the arena was not filled up, there were loads of seats courtside, and I was up for sneaking into those seats once the game had started, but the rest of my party were not in an adventurous spirit.. I wanted to see what it was like to sit up close to those giants of the court, I have never seen an almost 7 foot person up close, as well as sitting in a 500 dollar seat.. both would have been new experiences for me !! but never mind, lots of shopping to be had and generally a fab trip all round, but super pooped now..
