97 degrees
OOOh I have returned from super hot CUBA, at 97 degrees and 90% humidity, boy it was hot, but I loved it sooo much . Cuba is a very fascinating place, a country of some real contrasts. Fidel celebrated his 80th birthday whilst we were there, and it really is an acheivement for 1 person to be in power for so long. The Cuban people are so friendly, and really made us feel welcome in their country. I have never been in a communist country before and it was a real education. They have such beauty surrounding them in terms of the architecture of the buildings, yet they are so shabby in their appearance, as there is no money for such things as building renovation or maintenance.
Now you know all know how much I love food, and this was an interesting thing to encounter, as there is such limited supply of food, we ate in some Cuban establishments which only had 5 or 6 things on the menu, but when you order something, they say they do not supply that, even though it was on the menu ! it was certainly a challenge to find good food.
Went to a cigar factory, another myth was exploded for me, as I thought they would be cheap, but they are far from it, we invested in a box of Cohibas, so people need to come and visit the King household to sample the finest cigars!!
Well I am sure I will return to Cuba, and maybe explore other parts of the massive island, we only saw Havana, which certainly has a lot to offer, as long as you go with an open mind.
The trip was an education I have a greater knowledge of the Cuba history I know the part Che Guevera played in the contry's history and I learnt about the hardships the Cuban people have had to live with in all these years. I would highly recommend people to visit this fascinating place......

Wow! I'm jealous! In America we only can go to Cuba with a student Visa. Is England different? It sounds amazing. I'd love to see pictures and to hear more about it when you have time!
